Can anyone help me?

I thought it impossible but I left my keys in the ignition and when I went to get them the doors had locked (somehow??)

Any bright ideas as to how to get into my car - 1993 850 GLT?

Well, where I live the police used to help and unlock them for people, but they wont anymore without full identification (including care registration, which for most people is in the glovebox and without providing that first they wont unlock it...haha, kind of a catch 22).

Most towing services also have slimjimsfor unlocking cars, especially one that does repos. If you happen to know any tow truck drivers, check with them. I;m not sure how it is in Australia though.

Most locksmiths will do it as well, but they can be pretty expensive ($75-$150 around my area).

A basic slim jim will usually work, or even a makeshift one, but every car works a little different, and knowing the knack for your type is trial and error basically.

I dont know of any kind of electrical bypass one can create to unlock them though. If you know the key number on your keys you can order a new one, but that takes awhile (there are people on ebay that do this much cheaper than the dealer also, which is where I got my spares).

Check.

New battery has done the trick.

The old battery was OK with charge but lacked the cold cranking power to fire the motor.

I am guessing that some power fluctuation might have caused the doors to self lock in the first place.

Many thanks for the suggestions.
