Hello everyone.

I just purchased a brand new 2008 XC 90 3.2 FWD 5 seater. I've noticed that every time I open and close a door, a sustained buzzing sound begins to be emitted from the center console (it seems like it's coming from just behind the radio). It isn't very loud but is definitely noticeable and, like clockwork, it disappears after about 30 seconds. First the cabin lights dim out and ~15 sec later the buzzing clicks off. You can actually hear a click at the instant the sound disappears. I've also noticed that the same buzzing sound can be heard from the outside, coming from the engine compartment.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is this normal? Is my battery being drained?

it might be your door reminder. like the chime that sounds to tell you that you left your keys in the ignition, etc. i would have that checked out since it might be that the buzzer is dying. just a thought. good luck.

There are air flaps in the vehicle that allow the pressure inside the vehicle to escape when closing the doors.

hi, I've just had a similar problem wirth my V70 and it turned out to be dirt in the sensor which was obviously around the fan behind the sensor as well. Gave it a go with the vacuum and no more buzzing, but my car is a 2001 and not brand new.
