I am wanting to replace the cabin air filter on my own, but am unsure on the location. Is it under the dash on the passenger side? I would love some guidance on this. Thanks!

umav70,

I hope this isn't to late, I did mine a few weeks ago. The cabin airfilter is on the passender side underneith/behind the glove box. First you need to remove the cover panel. It is held in with two bolts (Torx 25 head). The VADIS instructions say to pull it toward you and it will come out, but I couldn't figure out how to get the right side of it to release, but there was enough play that I could swing it down enough to work on the filter (take out your floor mats for more room to work - yes it makes a difference and be careful not to scratch the plastic on the left side of the passenger foot area when you swing the panel down.

The cabin air filter then has four screws (one in each corner). There are two slots to the filter area, the one closest to you is the plain airfilter, the one closest to the engine compartment is the Interior Air Quality System (IAQS) slot. The slots are keyed so if you are using a filter of OEM specs, it should only go in the correct slot in the correct orientation. The IAQS filter I got at CarQuest had a photocopy of the VADIS instructions (which I already had looked at). The filter easily slid in, all the pieces and bolts went back perfectly and judging by the debris in the old filter it definately does what it is supposed to. The car smells fresher now too.
