I have a 93 volvo 850 glt and as you should know the trim is different from 94-97 sooooo. Where on earth can I find a piece of trim, preferably used so color will watch. Mine decided to fall off a few months back and didnt have the money to replace it until now but I havent been able to find a piece anywhere.

If you want used trims, i would say the best would be from the salvage yards.BTW, which part of the trim do you actually need?

I am short on time at the moment, but am not sure on the forums rules about posting information on other businesses in these threads. However, I found a great source for aftermarket Volvo parts that is located in the Midwest US. I dont have the information in front of me right now, but if posting such info is allowed, please let me know and I will post it.

The gentleman who runs the place is very helpful and knowledgeable and is exceptionally reasonable on prices.

I recently purchased a complete set of all rear 850 wagon lights (all 4) that looked brand new, fuel pump relay, windshield upper gasket seal, cruise/turn signal stalk, cruise air pump and cruise control relay for about $120. I couldnt even find the rear lights used for under $150 anywhere else, including ebay. He also shipped them quick.

He largely specializes in Volvo parts, and is basically a junk yard of sorts for Volvo (he has other stuff too though), but he pretty much knows what he has and what will work and if he isnt sure he has good information for cross-referencing what is interchangable.

He has basically become my main "go-to" guy for parts, and I dont really look anywhere else until I have checked with him first.

He can on occasion like to talk and tell stories, but he is easy to deal with.

hey blakbyrd, if this guy is straight with you, just post it.  we are always looking for new leads.  i use vandsautodismantlers.com out in cali.  if this guy is cheaper, by all means, give up the name, bro.  hey piece, which piece?  hahaha, i made a funny   i feel like a ten year old.  :bwekk:  that is what happens with a lack of sleep.

I know how you feel, I spent all week working inside a hot zone, after coming back from an 80 hour straight job (while driving to DC and back), now getting ready to head out to DC again a 4am and the heading to New York on Sunday...Sleep would be so nice :P

Anyways, I finally dug up the info on the salvage guy I use. However, I have managed to misplace my maintenance book for my Volvo, where I kept his info, so I don't have the guy's name right off. It's a family business though, nice and friendly. I dug the info up off the internet after finding one of the original boxes he shipped stuff to me in, so here ya go...

C & A Used Cars & Salvage
8008 E. 138 Rd.
Holdenville, OK 74848
Phone: 1-405-379-5701
Fax: 1-405-379-5702

I think the C&A is just the first letters of his name and his wife's name, if I recall correctly.

Hopefully he can help, and he has surely beat any used prices I have found elsewhere or on ebay.

Hey,

If your talking about the windshield molding then you might have some problems just popping it back on here is how I do them vehicles.

I put the clips into the molding then apply the whole nine yards to the windshield out side of the vehicle then re- install the windsheild. However there is a different windshield for your car that will fit perfectly provide more toof crush strength (cause its is put in with urethane) it is a FW667 you currently have a FW404 in your car the main difference is the 667 has a bonded molding made to the glass, however it is not chrome but looks really nice.

No the one on the side of the door on the passenger side rear. Im retarded now, and working with actual retards just urges it on a little more. Its kind of like playing checkers too much, after while you can play a whole game in your mind and always win.

I may be able to find you one, here... But hey, its many thousands of miles away, bro.

Last Friday was another great part-hunting i had with my DIY-buddy... It was SO COOL, we spent like SIX hours at ONE scrap yard... My wife was a little jealous. (No solid reason to, anyway...)

If you get me a price plus shipping, and I agree to it before you buy it. I would be down for buying it from you after you picked it up.

Yeah im serious, get me a price including shipping before you buy it, it may be too much and I might not want to do it. What I need is a rear passenger/right side door trim for the 93 850. The 93 is unpainted, and it shaped like this \_/ its not rounded off like the 94-98 versions, also you can not just pull it off. It will damage the mounting points where the clips attach the clips have to be pushed to the right I think, from the back inside of the door, then you slide the clips off of the end when you get it off of the door. I don't know if you knew that or not so I figured I would throw that in.

Its the outer trim, right?

OK, will check with the scrap yard soon.
Let's just hope they dont insist me buying the whole blardy door.
HAHAH!

Will keep you updated. Maybe via PM.
