Hello,

I am looking to buy an used 2001 S60 Turbo (not the T5, but the mid-tier one). I'm reading the threads here and am getting educated on the different issues common to the S60.
I really like the S60, however my biggest concern is reliability... I do not want to spend a lot of money on repairs, esp. on repairs that may be common to the S60 in general.

So bottomline - would you buy your S60 again? Any regrets? I'm budgeting up to $10K for this S60 and I would like it to last at least 5 trouble-free years...

Thanks guys! I hope I can join you guys as S60 owners :)

I have a 2001 2.0l turbo - SE model and so far i'm quite happy with it.

I do have some annoying little noises and problems but you would get that with pretty much any car of a similar age.

I would buy another S60 - although I might be tempted buy a diesel next time arround.

whatever you choose, make sure you carfax it or get a detailed description of all the service records. volvo's like a timely maintenance schedule. as long as you keep on top of it, it will last a long time. check to make sure that any and all recalls and service bulletins were taken care of. also any upgrades by the factory. then, go for the R. everybody that i know, including all the members here, rave about their R. good luck and hope to see you back as a member.

If you are buying used, I would ask very detailed questions on the types of repairs that the owner has made over the years. If there is a history of electrical errors RUN.

My Sis in Law and I have 02 S60 AWDs and mine has had a bunch of odd electrical issues (never mechanical) and hers has had none, nothing not a one :57: . I baby mine and fix every little thing and she beats the tar out of hers. So the history becomes important on a used Volvo.

I have loved mine other than the repairs :haha:

Good Luck!
