Hello Volvo 440 drivers. My friend parked Volvo 440 11 & half years ago in garage , not to look at it again......., then to ask me to check it out now ..... Engine turned , got the hind wheels unlocked eventually , and engine started.......Then after standing still , suddenly alarm went off. How do I stop this ( yes battery unplugged , and it stopped ). Engine won't start with alarm on, apart from horrible claxon noise. Help . G reg Volvo 440 . Thank you !

Hello! I am having a similar problem. My 440 has been undergoing some bits and pieces over the last month or two, passed mot then a week later the alarm keeps going off. After being parked for about 10 mins the alarm sounds and will continue to do so every 30 mins after that once it has been turned off. Also the alarm wont deactivate with the key fob and i have to disconnect battery to stop the sounder. I have had to take the alarm sounder fuse out but it still sits on the drive way / car park flashing its hazzards.

The cre is parked on a flat surface and indifferent places and it still continues. I have had to leave the car unimmobillised and locking the doors before i get out manualy.

To be honest I am not too bothered about someone stealing it its just anoying that it has started doing this and the inconvenince of manualy locking.. also i keep for getting and using the keyfob to lock the car.

Any help please?

Ta

Darse!

Sounds like the unit is shot, take the drivers door card off and disconect the central locking connectors. ok this will also stop the central locking from working, but you can get the thing to start then!
