I have a 2005 S40 with the premium sound. This morning I stopped to fuel up, radio working fine.

When I'd filled up and started the engine again, no radio. So switched to CD which came up paused, meaning volume is at zero.

Turning the volume wheel does nothing, nor does the steering wheel volume control, but all other stereo functions appear to be working normally - changing cd, changing sound settings (not that I can hear anything).

I called the dealer who reckon I've activated mute(???) but no-one there knows how to de-activate it.

Thoughts anyone?

any resolution of this issue? Same problem for me this morning when I started my 2004 s40 2.4i.

Did you guys tried resseting the computer??? Disconnect your battery for a couple of secs and see what happens...
