Ok a quick few questions.

On lowering: Get it done by pros or is there any home kits i can buy online? certain springs etc?

What steps must be taken to turbo a non turbo 740GL? i can think of The actually turbo unit, intercooler, bigger fuel injectors... what else is there? and what is a decent sze turbo for a good boost?

try all the electronics, computers, sensors, not to mention the fact that you have to lower the compression ratio, being that the engine is not turbo (i think which is dangerous according to the mrs) better to just sell and get a turbo.

manual conversion, find a donor car with a manual and just swap piece for piece. for lowering, try the individual shock and struts manufacturers sites and see what is available for your model.

lowering you can buy spax, koni, pi springs from www.potn.com for volvo 700-900 series ... make sure you get the right type of suspension tho ...

best bet for turbo, get another engine dropped in ..i can give you a history on everything to install a turbo ... its around here somewhere.

with lowering these cars though, you have to be weary about the fact that if you do, and you dont shorten the steering arms and suspension rods n stuff, you will get a wobble of your steering wheel and juddering at 70+ mph ... not that nice i can tell.

to be completely honest with you, you *can* get away with just the lowering springs which will drop you 40mm. but if you want to do it properly, you will need a big wallet and get all of them.

If its for normal road driving and some fast road driving styles then the springs will do, and i would say maybe replace your shocks with some better ones too. will make a huge difference.

and whilst you are there, get polyurethane bushings all round, it will tighten your steering and handling up immensely, i have them on my 940 and it is such a different more responsive drive when i didnt have them.

good choiuce, cant see whether i have recommended potn.com, but have bought from there before. also try demon-tweeks.com.

i owuldnt have thought postage would have been much, depends on how large the box is. it shouldnt weigh that much either. prob looking around £30-£45.

when you get them on post some pics up :)
