Can anyone help?

I have a xc70 2000 yr 2nd generation model.
Its sunroof is stuck in the vent position and will not close. My local volvo dealer says it is a wiring fault from the codes they have read! They are quoting me 6 hours of labour to fix it approx £700 without parts. I have asked them to manually close it as it is rarely used and i want to fix it at a later date. But they have just called back to say they have tried everything to close it but they are unable to do it without fixing it!

Has anyone come across this problem and does anyone know a way of closing for no so i can at least use it in the rain???
