Hi. Could any one sudgest on how to replace the fuel filter on my 1999 S80 T6.
In the Vadis Software instructions it says that I have to drain the fuel system.
That is too complicate or me. Maybe there is an easie way.
Can I just do the following as I have done on my 2001 Ford Windstar:
1: While the car is idling remove the fuel pump relay (the engine will stop)
2: Then replace the fuel filter.
Worked for me.
Thank you.
Happy Volvo Owner.

:) I replaced mine last year...
Drove up on the ramps..Blocked rear tire...
Remove the Gas Cap...
Get underneigh with a drain pan and rubber gloves and just remove the old and replace with a new one....
Note: Be sure the arrow on the fuel filter is pointing towards the engine.. Disconnect the negative post of the battery, suppose for safety reasons its a good policy, but I never have....
It takes a few extra cranks of the engine to get the new filter full of fuel...
Good to go for another 40-59 thousand miles..Maybe more...Good Luck

I did mine recently about a month ago. i just cranked the car up, and pulled the hose closest to me, the problem is that it spat fuel all over the place (good i didnt pull the one facing me). Next time ill pull the fuse for the fuel pump start the car and let it just use up all the fuel in the lines than take it off. Good luck if you didnt do it already.

Replaced the fuel filter a few days ago, very easy.
Just removed the fuel pump fuse number 33 on the drivers side dashboard while the engine was running. The engine stops. removed the filter put new one in, replace the fuse and that's it. Job Done. Cost me just the part 47 usd.
