Hi,

The other day whilst driving our 98 V70 AWD manual the car spluttered to a halt as if running out of fuel. I restarted it and drove for 100 yds before it died again and wouldn't restart. After 2 minutes it restarted but wouldn't run for more than 10 or so seconds before stopping again. There was a strong smell of sulphur. It was recovered to a local garage who diagnosed the cat even though there was a fault code for the air flow meter. The cat was replaced (at a cost of £500) and still the car will not run. Does anyone have any idea what it could be. He teels me he has taken off all the air intake etc, checked the turbo spins, taken off the back box and found no problems. Any advice would be hugely appreciated as we are without the car and rapidly sinking money into it.

Thanks a lot for your help.

have you checked the gas filter?
or the gas pump for correct pressure?

sounds like your fuel pump relay. when you turn the key to position one, do you hear the fuel pump, if not, then it's the relay. if you do hear the pump, then check the filters.
