I cannot get it to spray, the motor runs but isny putting anything out. I have traced all the lines back to the pump. Is there no hose in the bottom of the motor to go into the washer? My service manual has none, but I sure think it should! There are also two hoses that I think lead to the headlights that are unhooked, probably got as frustrated as I did. Any advice is appreciated thanx!

try a pin and insert it into the holes to clean out any crud that might accumulate there. also, unplug the hose from the nozzle and see if there is fluid shooting out, then you know that something is in the nozzle. if nothing comes out and the pump works, it's the hose.

I think TheGreekMason's suggestion is the logical thing to do.

However, if doing this doesn't solve your problem then you will have start your investigation right back at the the washer pump motor(s) and work your way forward along the various pieces of tubing until you find where the blockage is.

There is also a little one-way valve in the washer system which can freeze and prevent the washer fluid from getting to where it should.

I have also known the little cogs in the pump to jam up with accumulated gunk. If this is the problem you will have to clean out every last skerrick of gunk as these cogs mesh with a very fine tolerance and therefore jam easily.

Good luck!

My guide with pics illustrates the pump coming out (I can do this) but the pic shows the bottom spigot not having a hose on it (The one going straight down into the jug) Sure appears to me like there should be one, can anyone confirm? Great site :57:

Yeah - that's the motor trying to turn the seized-up pump cogs that I referred too in my last post. Drop the bottom of the pump off and have a geek at it. However, if you have stacks of money, then don't worry about it - just throw it away and buy a new one.

To drop the bottom off, do I pry on those two white clips? It seems to be molded as one unit - I guess because it has been together so long. Thanx for a reply, and thanx for all the help!

Hey all, can I add an aftermarket pump? Do I just place it inline and use the old pump to seal at the reservoir? thanx for any input!

Wow, had a pile of wires and hoses to disconnect to undo the headlight wiper/washer combo. A little grinding, sanding and bending and I got an aftermarket one to slide in and works like a charm. Not really well designed in my HO, and I have the cuts on my large hands to prove it :) beer time
