my friend told me that ther was a model 850 or of the same chassis build that offered a all wheel drive version like the cross country, is this true? and if so could i adapt the awd to my 850? that would be sweet, i know i could fab it up, but bolt on would be easier. in a way a thousand for the bet against it is my reward, but i would feel like a winner eather way.

yes, it's called the v70/xc70. and no, you can't just bolt it up. better to just get the 70 and leave it at that. not worth the effort. even though the chasis is similar, the steering geometry is different, the ecu/ecm/all the electricals, etc. just get a 70, mod it and keep the 850 for the dry.

Yep, sure is darn true.

Actually there is no need to guess if the Volvo is an All Wheel Drive variety as, strangely enough, they normally have AWD in their description.

Also, of all the V70's in the UK, The AWD is consistanly the one marked out for reliability and build problems. :haha:
