i own v40 t4 engine management light on and fan seems to be running constant topped up on coolant no difference talk to another volvo owner he says that there was a recall on some models fault with fan system(inferior parts) does termostat and sensor need replacing (temp gauge has not gone over half way)any replies would be very helpful

Sounds like you have a fan switch failure not sure if that would put the engine management light on though. Its the first thing i would change as it wont cost much.
