So my new 98 S90 doesn't want to play burned cds for some reason, lame! I want to switch this giant cd player tape deck monstrosity out for a normal walmart brand cd player that will play mp3 cd-rs. Is there any way to do this with keeping the amp and everything else? I had to bypass that by just cutting the cord on my 240, and but I'd rather do this one nicely somehow. Pretty much need a good guide or anyone willing to describe stuff step by step, thanks

i've got an 850 R. my model radio is premium sound system sc-815. once i changed to the tdk's i've had no problems with any cd burned with mp3 tracks on them. hope this helps. btw, the tdks's from costco are colored. the label part are red/yellow/blue/silver. the back part is mirror/chrome/silver, whatever you want to call it. costco also carries the black ones, and the ones with the blue backing. mine are the cd-r ones and come with cases. bought a case of them for all my nieces and nephews, who they in turn burned the discs. when i saw that they worked with the volvo system, i went out and bought my own.

make of cd-r's really does matter. Its in the technology behind they're making, the use of different chemicals. The branded ones are always the best for use in car sound systems as any that dont meet the stringent quality check get recycled immediately.

The cheap ones, white label type are only here because someone had the idea ah ha! gap in market, i shall fill peoples need for cheap cd-r's and make some out of milk bottle tops.
