Hi guys!

Am pretty new to 850s so I hope you guys could help me with this problem.

My reverse gear engages smoothly, and reverses well if you don't press on the gas pedal. Once you press on the gas pedal, youget the feeling that something is slipping and there is aslight shuddering in the car.

Is this one of the symptoms of gearbox failure?

Thanks. :liebe011:

Yup... especially during turning. Present but not so obvious during reversing in a straight line.

How hard did you step on the pedal?

Could you look at the ATF, please?
What does it look or smell like?

ATF levels are as per recommended and is still red. The ATF was flushed right before I took ownership of my baby.

I pressed slightly on the pedal.

I dont want to state the obvious...

BUT, it will still give you LOTS of happiness, my friend.
Trust you me.
When that happened to mine, i think i went through like a year or so.
And a full-flush as well.

It's the day i decided to fix the oil-cooler that it refused to reverse into the parking-bay for me to begin the DIY. Dang. So pissed, the minute i put the cooler on, i went on a rampage on AKLEH at 190kmh (so as to hasten the dying process). Of course, i've secured another gbox at that time.

:)

bear doesn't need to an excuse to do 190km/h on akleh. that's just his normal speed commutin to work! :haha:

greekmason, you are right. The slippage is getting more obvious. am putting some money aside for the gearbox. have to forget about getting the amica ecu then.
:sob sob: :(

hey bigdaddy, the way i see it, on all my cars, old and new, i just made a list of what i wanted and did it at the same time. when i did it one at a time, i would end up messing something else up and never getting around to getting anything done. hey, you prob already knew that. just re-iterating. now go and do an even 200 on the akleh, just because you can. maybe i'll come over there and do an even 2 bills just for the heck of it.

And even @ 200kmh all of you boy racers will be left well behind wallowing in the wake of davemir1994-850-gst hairy-beasty Volvo with all of it's 327 horses bolting.

And, if that happens, you'll feel a bit like TheGeekMason.

Greek and Volgrr,

Actually the AKLEH is a highway within the city, and its almost impossible to get to speed, with the kind fo traffic there. But there are certain 'time-holes' during the day, when the stretch is really down to a minimum, and thats normally when the guys, ehem-ehem...

Hehehe...

By the way, the 4848 is a powerful car, but may not be as powerful as davidemir's. When i hit 235kmh, my ONLY wish was that the 4848 was 'playing' as well, so that i can know exactly how far would i be left behind. The owner of the 4848 at THAT time, was already in bed...(something to do with wife's birthday or something... :haha: )

Bear, you went up t 235km/h?
See, he IS fast!!!!!!!!

Anyways, could anyone advise me on the pros and cons on getting a used tranny or rebuilding/refurbishing the existing tranny?

Also, is it advisable to swap to a manual tranny from the current auto tranny?

Tried pressurized flushing for the tranny few days ago. Problem is still there. Hmmm....
Will need to get a new gearbox for sure now. Just waiting for some money to drop out of the sky these few weeks. Thus far, I can still reverse, it can still do the job for daily commuting.

So, more 0-100 runs, rd gear drops at 160km/h just to test some corners then. Till I screw up this gearbox completely.
