hi, i am new to this site, and am very gratefull for anything anyone can tell me. this is my first car that i bought 6 years ago, and it holds alot of sentimental value to me. i have a 92 940 gl with 125k on it ,which i dont drive to much. i dont use it in the winter due to the rear wheel drive. i recently took it out and drove it for a few days with no problem. i pulled it into the garage, and the next morning it wouldnt start. it cranks, but doesnt turn over. i used a spark tester and established i had no spark. i had no power at the coil, and ignitor. i then traced power from the battery to a sensor over the battery, following it to the harness by the crank sensor. i unplugged it and had no power at that point. i do have power at my injectors, and have tested all of my fuses and relays, and the seem to work. my uncle is a mechanic, but this car stumped him. we called a friend who knows alittle about volvos, but no luck. people are saying it may be the crank sensor itself, or the ignition computer. any ideas?

update---- no spark condition. voltage at the ignitor blue wire and voltage both injector harness connectors. why do both have power on this volvo? doesnt the ecm control injector pulse on a ground side?impulse sensor red wire has no voltage. ohms test on blue and black wires on the sensor side read low ohms. cranking voltage is .2 volts on sensor blue and black wires. ready to condem the crank or impulse senosr. does this sound correct?

on the coil you should have 2 wires, one will go to ground so that the easy one to trace. the other goes to an ignition amplifier, which is what uses signals from the crank sensor and cam sensor to provide a spark at the right time. this is probably your problem as many have had this this recently on this board and its ben roughly the same thing.

have a search around, it will be lerking on here and most likely somewhere in the 740 section aswell.
