Hi I currently have 225/45/17 Michelin Pilot PS2 on my V70 D5 I have only just & so got 15000 miles out of them & now require a new full set. The tyres are equally worn & there is nothing wrong with the car set up. I am reluctant to pay the premium for Michelin & whilst i am not going to put budget tyre on either. Anyone any recommendations of a better wearing tyre?

George

Hmmm... Funny. I was on Michelin Preceda and got a good 2 years for them. What model were you on?

The more 'performance' ones are usually soft, in order to respond to the kind of power the car demands. So, softer ones, wear out faster.

I am on Hankook R-S2 Ventus now, and for the price, they are great.

But nothing beat the GoodYear Formula1 for me, for now.
Have yet to test Toyo Proxes T1R.

PS2 is a high perf summer tire, and as ampangbear said the more performance oriented, usually the softer the compound will be, so it will wear out faster. I'm no expert, but it's my understanding that Michelin is usually a softer compound to begin with.

This is a good resource...
