Ok, so it all started when i was driving down the road in a valley in the rain when my 1991 940 Turbo just suddenly died. Towed it in and went to work. I first checked the air filter because it seemed starved for air... after cleaning out the mouse nest I pulled the cable off the mass air sensor and another sensor (called? - map?) that is in line between the MAS and the exhaust driven turbo spool (did I say that right?). Also there is a small black something that is randomly resting on the wheel well just behind the air filter - it has some wires running into / out of it and seems like it ought to be bolted down somewhere. AFTER fiddling with only these components she started up and went pretty good till lether sit for a few and now we are back to running poorly. I started it yesterday and let it idol for a while, but the min I tried to put it in gear it stalled out and then I could not start it again.

She ran flawlessly for the past three years

Suggestions PLEASE.

Hi,

I guess something got wet and accidently you've cleared it,
Did you started the car with an unpluged sensor? if so you will need to "reset" the
car's computer by disconnecting the battary for an hour.
Try that since it can do no harm.

Well, that did nothing - are there any other suggestions out there please! I much appreciate any help whatsoever...

I let it sit for a couple of days and on a nice warm sunny day (yes even in seattle) I hooked the battery back up and got the same results. Not sure what to do next.... but I have to do something quick because it is in a parking lot where they are likely to tell me to move it very soon.

Have you tried looking at the onboard diagnostics to see if there is a fault code ?
Just scroll down the page and there is a pic on what it looks like and how to do it.
