Hi,

I am trying to figure out how to remove the Driver's Interior Door Panel
so I can get to the Relay in there which I suspect is broken.
Just a note, the relay for the automatic up/down window control is within
the door.

1) I have removed the Red Light Lens cover on the lower portion of the door.
2) I have twisted all 3 of the white screwlocks underneath the door and they seem free.
3) I have removed the panel screws under the cover in the door handle "cup"
4) I have removed the speaker grill and the plastic pice around the door handle

The panel is held on by some clips I suppose but I am applying a large force to the panel and nothing is snapping free...Doe anyonw know what is holding the door panel on? tandva@comcast.net

Thanks, Tom

firstly, it's a lot easier to ask in the correct forum, which i am moving you to. second, did you get the screws on the side of the door. i think that there are two one that faces the hinges and the other that faces the striker plate. about 3/4 of the way down. i think that the one on the hinge side has a plastic slide that the screw goes into. good luck.

Here is the procedure for removing the door panel:

1) pry out the small piece of plastic that is near the door handle (it is about 3" long and about 1" wide). You'll notice that in the upper middle of this plastic piece there is a slot to get a screwdriver into it. Just puch a screwdriver in and turn...the panel will pop off.

2) remove the two torx screws under the piece you just took off (I think it is a torx #30)

3) remove the plastic bezel around the door handle (it just snaps on to the door panel)

4) remove the three lock at the bottom of the door. I made a tool from a piece of coat hanger...about 4" long with a 1/4" hook at the bottom. Slip the hook behind the white lock and pull...the front lock is up about 4: into the door...so look up the slot for it.

5) pull firmly about midway up the door panel (holding panel on the front and back edge)...there are two push tabs that will pop out and take force to free up from the metal of the door.

6) slightly lift door panel to clear top of door

7) unplug the harness from the red light on the back of the door panel

8) now I wish you luck...You have to somehow fish the electric window switches through the door panel. I separated the bezel from the switches and pushed the bezel through and then the switches through (a real PITA). The other choice would be to unplug all the switches from the panel and take the window switches out with the panel (looked to me to be more difficult than fishing all of it through the panel...but I am not certain of that.

Do you have any info on the linkages and pieces for the drivers door? My interior handle is cracked and the exterior handle recently broke. I want to replace both pieces, but cannot find a reference anywhere.
