I have a '99 C70 Convertible LPT. While driving my top lowering/raising button flashes orange and dings repeatedly, the top is up but apparently not according to the car's sensors. I cannot get the top to go any further up, or down for that matter. The switch has no effect. I have the car running, in park, with the e-brake on, all doors shut and pressing the button does nothing.

I was wondering if anyone might have any ideas of what is wrong. I know that the top has ciruit breakers for overload protection, but this problem is constant and the button dosen't flash when i press it like it should do if it is in overload mode.

I read that the "fuses" for the top were number 41 and 42, but even with the fuse panel cover unscrewed I do not see those numbers so I can't check them.

Any help will be greatly appreciated! :)

I have had a similar thing happen on mine - starts to open then stops once the plastic cover is about vertical at the back.

There are two switches one either side of the plastic cover one of the switches is worn and doesnt fall bask under spring tension just push it back and the roof works ok maybe this will help.

Switches are located as in the photo i have attached good luck its attached to the silver spring you can see next to the gas strut
