Hi guys new to this forum just brought a volvo 460 and it has a bit of a problem when i start it from cold it is absolutely fine but if it has been a distance and got up to temperature it will not start again until it has cooled down :( ???? also it seem sto idle low and always feels as if it is going to stall but hasnt as of yet, any advice would be hugely appreciated.

I had a similar problem on mine (1.7l carb engine) which turned out to be the vacuum hoses.

It would also cut out when hot and refuse to start until cooled which was due to the fact that the previous owner had not re-connected the fuel lines properly, particularly to the vapour separator on the bulkhead which resulted in vapour locks in the fuel line and knackered the diaphram on the fuel pump
