Can anyone tell me if there is a ground wire that goes from the starter to the chassis.

I just replaced the starter in the 240 and the old one didn't have one (not my car, a friends) that I can remember, however it was towed to my place and not running when it came in...

...no audible click of the solenoid upon arrival. Now there is an audible click but the starter wont turn...if I jump the terminals it spins but not with the key.

HELP!!

When I had my old 240 I went through 3 aftermarket starters. They were brand new and didn't work.I finally gave up and told them to give me my money back.I went and bought a used Volvo starter and never had another problem.
You can try to tap on the starter when someone is holding the key in the start position it you tap it and it works then it is bad.
