now, looking into line locks for my brake lines. it has abs, and i am int he middle of a heated discussion with myself abotu whether i should keep it on or take it out as its going to be a track car ... i am veering towards leaving it on.

This leaves me at a stand point as regards to line locks. I want to put line locks on so i can lock out the front wheels. Handbrake is fine for the rear FTW.

Now because it has abs, do i put the line locks BEFORE the abs unit eg on the front line pipe between the servo and the abs unit

OR

do i place the line locks AFTER the abs unit.

Also i am not sold on the electric solenoid units as they can become stuck closed or open and cause large problems, but then again, having manual lever type locks would cause an awful lo9t more hassle in locating then inside the car aswell as running the lines to and from them.

any idea's peoples?

Matt

if the car is only for the track, remove the abs. my old trans am, which was technically a track car, but still driven on the street. sshhhhh, don't tell the police, ran manual brakes with manual line locks. worked great on the track, a little pain in the patootie for the street. but talk about jealous looks. that and the 8-71 blower through the hood. place them before the abs unit if you will retain the abs unit. good luck and post some pics of this bad boy.

cheers for the info. Over here i believe you can run a track car on the road as long as it passes its MOT and you pay road tax and increased insurance ahem anyway ...

yes pictures will be up very soon as i am going to be working on it a bit more, and will take it out for a drive too ... got a very very naughty video of the dump valve doing its thing ...

oh, here also. as long as it passes the DOT test, visual and technical, you can drive it on the street. doesn't mean the cops won't ticket you for a roll cage and shoulder belts. or a parachute. or that you can't see the passenger side of the hood because of the blower. or the size of the rear tires. or any of the other crap i got tickets for. good luck and what is the link for the video.
