My key is flopping around loose and no longer springs out like it is supposed to. I recently purchased a used key/fob in pristine condition from a company on ebay. The fob looks brand new. Unfortunately the dealer says there is no way to ever re-program the key to work with my car, the new key is basically a paper weight. I have to buy a new one from them. Is this true? It seems like such a shame.

I just bought a used remote/fob off Ebay last week and found out the same thing. The Jerk at SuperRemoteStore knows this and keep selling them anyway. I told him I was going to give him negative feedback when he refused to refund and he said he was going to give me negative feedback. JackAss!

without the codes supplied by volvo with the remote, the remote is indeed a paper weight. Have actually had one guy buy a remote from my dealership and take it away to get coded by "someone cheaper" then returned to get us to do it but as he had removed the remote from the packaging and binned the packaging he was informed that his new remote was indeed scrap.

Hey, on a side note, I just got finished selling something on Ebay and they are saying now that Seller's cannot leave negative feedback for Buyers. Check it out and you might be able to nail this guy/tool for selling these keys. Look at the FAQs to be sure.
