My autodimming rear view mirror on a 1999 C70 coupe does not work. Does anyone know if the mirror is repairable and an ideas on likely cause of why it is not working.

Theres a place in the mall called Danny's family carwash where I work that was having free carwashs. Long story short they sprayed something on the inside of my car that got into the sensor of the mirror and now I have a big spot that looks like a normal mirror in the middle and the conductive film all around it can be seen but does not change its pigment. When I talked to the volvo dealership, they said it would be $250 for the mirror. I have seen them cheaper on ebay, and I looked into getting other auto dimming mirrors, but this one uses a unique mount and non of the other ones I've seen uses that same mount.
