Hi all,

I recently bought a 2004 S60 2.5T AWD with black exterior, what fun! Unfortunately, the coil spring inside the remote key that the dealer gave me is either removed or broken. So the key just limps out of the remote and the aluminum button that should release the key like a switch blade does nothing.

Has anyone experienced this? I am experimenting ways to disassemble the remote, but so far I've only removed the battery cover! I don't want to go too far and break it. This is obviously not a crucial piece, but it's very annoying to hold the actual key between your fingers to start the car!

Does anyone know how to disassemble this piece, or where I could find a replacement spring?

I'd say to get a new fob altogether, if you dont want to try it out.

But hey, assuming you DO get a new one, then experimenting on the old one can take on the NEXT level, right?
