Hello,
does anybody know what kind of airbags has later models of s80 ?
I want to buy an older model, starting from 2002;
I am interesed in curtain airbags and I want to know from what year they started making them.
The last car I saw was developed in 2002 and didn't have curtains, but I don't know if back then such technology was available or if volvo had them installed on s80

Starting in 2001 all S80 models had dual stage airbags standard and side airbags were standard since introduction in 1999.

Are you sure the 2002 you looked at didn't have side airbags (SIPS and VIC)?

EDIT: Just noticed you are in Europe...so the specifications may be different, I'll have to check now...

The man that was selling the 2002 volvo said that his model only has chest airbags on each side (probably mounted in the front seats) ... now he maybe wrong since i've checked it out on wikipedia: 'The Curtain airbags became standard on the 1999 Volvo S80 sedan.'
