Beyond the oil issue I presented I'm wondering if anyone is getting great gas miliage. I've tracke my car for the last two months for gas miliage. City and highway. The most impressive is the highway miliage. I changed to the K filter and installed NGK plugs with the addition of synthitic oil.
When I first started out I could push 38 to the gallon. After the changes I got 41 to the gallon. This week I had time to spare and stayed at 54 on open highway driving to work. My travel is a 145 one way. On this trip 43 to the gallon. It was a slow ride with everyone zooming by me. One other note my tire pressure I increased to 38 psi.
My next goal is to free the exhaust I'm betting this will add miliage as well. Is anyone getting this kind of miliage? Thanks love this site.

43!!!!!! dude, the only way i'd get 43 is if i flat bedded my R to where ever i was heading. that is amazing. i'm happy with 34mpg at 75 mph. even dowhill, with a tailwind, maybe being pushed by a kenworth i'd get 43.

Sorry to have to ask, but what is a K filter? I am good with the spark plugs and oil, but K filter? I need to get better gas milage, who doesn't at $3.60 a gallon. I want to make sure I am doing everything I can to make it better.

Are you running on High octane gas? I usually run the low grade 87 oct. Just wondering if you are running the 91 oct stuff or higher. I guess that could help too? Not sure if the extra cost per gal has that much MPG impact. Plan on checking it out this week.
