ok cool. congrats on the purchase and welcome to the board!!

when you say they alarm wont turn off, you mean stop the siren? has it been standing for a while?

can you start it via the key when the alarm is sounding? if not it is probably also an immobilizer.

try disconnecting the battery and leave it for a bit then re-connect it and try again.

i also imagine you have no key fob to silence this alarm also, correct?

a few things i have from memory about alarm systems on volvo, i do not know whether they might be a good read to help you back up what you know and see what you dont know.

This one is an internal link to another thread in the 850 section of this site. this may help you it may not. I have the guard 1 alarm on my 940 and it helped so i am not sure.

This is a pdf which turns out to be linked to at the end of the previous link. it details how to find out etc... and a few extra bits.

This is what i have immediately to my hand at work at the moment, but when i get home in a few hours i shall try to dig some more stuff out my favourites. <<<damn spellchecker cant spell

Matt

...
ENGLISH WORDS !!!! colour <<<stop underlining it!!! thats how its spelt
