Could you possibly wait while I consult my mind-reader because I haven't a clue how to address your problem and I don't think anyone else will either.

If you don't know what to look for well, ......... er, well, I don't want to state the bleedin' obvious.

Alright no need to be a smartass. I obviously need a new Wire harness. When I say I don't know what I'm looking for I should have made my question more clear, so here goes...

When buying a new wire harness for my head light, is there any certain power levels such as wattage or amps that I need to look for so it will work with my 850? Thank you.

yeah, I have the same problem. I usually have to get out of my car and hit the passenger side headlight to get it to turn on. As of right now, there are about 4 wires that are actually attached the headlight, all the other frayed away :(

Hey, Ginnetti.

Firstly, i dont know if there are any year-1990 850s to begin with. And as for the OBD-1 headlights, i cant be totally sure, but i dont think there are any differences with the OBD-2 headlights wires. Of course there are the wipers lines, but they are separate.

Alternatively, you can just inspect the old one, one by one and replace the one that you think have started to disintegrate already. The labour time is pretty much the same i guess with replacing it with new... OK, maybe just slightly longer.

:)

Cheers.

okay, now boys, play nice. don't make me get all moderator on your butts. butts-greek, get it? oh never mind. anyway. try vandsautodismantlers.com to get the whole unit. hey bear, i think he pointed out that it was a mistake on his part with the year, and i think the year make a difference because some, i think the older models, were two bulbs and the newer were one. get the whole unit, unless you have a junk yard near you, in which case, go to them. that way you can see what is needed on a non-hit unit and then you can make your assesment. see, another problem solved by super-moderator dude. where's the beer, dammit?

Ooopssss 1:

You're right on the OBD1 headlights vs OBD2 headlights. I think the older ones had the single bulb setting, while the younger ones had two.

Ooopsssss 2:

Gosh, i must have been blind. Sorry.

OK, Super Moderator Dude.
Here's you beer. What? You want a jug? :trophy:
