remote battery? range usually dies when this starts to flatten. also has your remote been in close contact with water? as it could have leaked and corrosion formed inside of it.

i open the remote and i found the contact on buttons,i mean is like a piece of tape with a kind of paint and i think when you push the bottoms in the remote this make contact and open the doors, that paint is lost and i think that is the problem,no rust inside the remote,i let you know, thanks

it could possibly be that. Its probably a conductive rubber paint, like the type of rubber mats you get in tv remotes, on the under side of this usually is a small graphite pad that shorts the metal lines on the board.

try using a paper clip or something.

not particularly knowing much about the alarm system on the car and its age i would have thought not being able to open it from more than 6-7 feet away would be realistic.

I have a Sigma S30 alarm with all the trimmings on my 740 and it wont unlock/disarm unless i am almost right up next to it. about 2 or 3 feet. This is a security reason as people can scan the frequency and also the code from the key fob and use it to get your car (as seen in gone in 60 seconds i might add).

how far away is your 'close' ?

mat is correct about the frequency. it is like the old remote controls for the television, sometimes you can control your neighbors television because the frequency is close. try to go to a alarm specialist. they can tell you what is wrong. it could be that the unit in the car is old. not the remote.
