I have a 1989 240 dl and the odometer is not working the speedometer is working also the blower for the a/c does not cut off and is making a whinning noise. and the a/c control does not cut off the compressor any suggestions

Three problems. With the odometer, it's probably a broken gear in the odometer mechanism. Replacement gears are available and the installation requires care and patience.
Sounds like a bearing in the blower motor is on the way out. A replacement is not to expensive, but installation is a lot of work.
A/C switch - could be a lot of things. Does it have the original A/C system or has it been upgraded?

So it's the rotary switch? Maybe the previous owner bypassed it?
