Guys
I am looking to get a set of alloy wheels for my volvo, with the tyre sizes being 185 x 65 what size of wheel am I looking for? I apologise for the no doubt really daft questions, but I am really gromless when it comes to cars and what makes them tick

With that size tire it is probably a 15" wheel. The tire should have the size (for example a 185/65/R15 would be a tire that is 185mm wide, with a sidewall 65% of the tread width in height, a Radial design and 15" wheel size. Look at your current tires, that will tell you what size wheel. If you go up to a larger wheel size the sidewall size will need to decrease.

Be very careful when looking to buy aftermarket non volvo alloys. I got bitten by this and had to take mine back and i only got like 80% of they're value back.

you most likely do have 185/65/R15 88H on your car as i do on my 740 and 940.

The stud pattern is 5 pin and i do believe that it is 107/8mm stud spacing with 25mm offset? anyone confirm?

I think you'll find it is really hard in the uk to come accross manufacturers/suppliers that will find ones to fit!

also please bear in mind that you cant fit any more than 215mm wide tyres on the rear and i think 205 on the front as any more with 25mm offset will make the wheel/tyre rub against your suspension arms, struts shocks etc...

Though if you do find a pair of non-volvo alloys please let me know as i have been looking for about 2 years for a decent set that i like!

Matt

Been looking for wheels myself for a later project. I haven't had any problems finding wheels that fit. I can't find any I like. The only pair I've seen (Non-BBS) that I like are from a company named ASA. The wheel I like however I can't find here in US.

however - you fnid them easy to find. you are in the US, me and dgp1957 are in the UK where there are significantly less places to find things AND they are usually miles away from anyone.

I have seen so many rims that I like however they don't have 5X108 stud pattern.
I think that's one of the differences between Volvo and Honda...

yes. That is indeed true. your best bet i have found, perusing through web pages is ebay and looking for the t5 alloys cos they sometimes come on over here etc...

its really frustrating sometimes cos you see some nice alloys and think yeah they'd be great, oh sorry sir we cant get it off the shelf, we can get it custom drilled for you at an extra cost ...oh how much is that? .... about an extra £800 sir .... SOD OFF!!!!
