Hello everybody this my first post,

My girlfriend an I got our first family car on sunday (had our third child on the 16th so Sarah's gotta learn to drive) an she got insured on it yesterday, the car is ticking over at 500 an requires a bit of throttle to take off... she keeps cutting out.

I would like to adjust the idle to about 900 an just wondering how do i do that ??

also the clutch is a little high don't know if there is adjustment left on it but is it easy to adjust ???

and finally the car is making a loud rattle when ticking over... almost sounds like a diesel anyone any clue on what i can do about this ??

i adjusted the idle... but haven't figured out anything about the rattle or the clutch cable....

Any Help would be apreciated.

Can you tell me how you adjusted the idle. I have a 1.8i with a similar problem - trying to keep it from cutting out when slowing/stopping.
