I forgot about this on my last post, sometimes when I apply the brake there is (I dont know the correct term) what can only be described as a strong tickle on the brake pedal, a friend told me it could be to do with the ABS but I should'nt worry too much about it.

a strong tickle? try and describe this more, like is it kicking back at you or does judder, go all spongey etc...

usually with abs when you brake really hard you feel a hammering effect on the brakes, which is felt through the pedal and your seat and steering wheel soemtimes ... be aware it could be this.

If the ABS light isn't lit on the dash then its probably fine.

Have you owned a car with abs before? the older ones can be more in your face than newer ones, and its a completely different experience driving an abs having being used to non abs brakes ... personally i dont like abs :)

Yes it is a stong judder, but the ABS light doesn't come on the dashboard.

From that its most likely the abs hammering where your either braking too hard or too late. If your having to push hard on the brakes, have a look at the colour of the brake fuild and the brake pads as they might be worn.

If the brake colour is ochre-brown (god forbid black like mine was) then i would get it flushed out and new stuff put in, as the fluid absorbes moisture due to its chemical nature - havign to withstand high temperature fluctuations etc... Also flushing it out can remove dirt and debris in the system which also helps.

I have done this on my 940 and 740, both times an awful colour came out on both and a lot of debris came out too. i used 2 litres to flush out with and then used a new litre bottle to fill up.

DO NOT USE AN ALREADY OPENED BOTTLE OF FLUID - as it wil have already abosrbed moisture from when you opened it.

Oh and always do up your resovior cap tightly and dont egt any fluid on paintwork otherwise it will strip the paint.
