I am a mechanic however can not find this problem.
The fuse for the door lock (#6) leaks 5-6 amps with the driver door unlocked. If the interior lights go out it goes down to 3 amps. With all the electrical connections in the door disconnected it is still the same 3 amps even with the bridged wire cut.
With the trunk open the 3 amps go to 4 with out the light on.
If the doors are locked the amps drop down to less than 1 amp. If i lock the doors by hand the current stay's on 3 amps, lock it with the key it drops to below 1amp.

I do not know if this is the same problem;
The passenger window measures 12.5 Volt but does not give enough current to open or close this window. If i hook up the window motor to the battery it works fine. The rest of the windows and door locks work good.
Any good suggestions?
Cees

Hey there, any chance the draw lies somewhere within the security system? I think it would be tied in to all those components you mentioned, no?

Dont know if this is good suggestion, but try looking at the cable connections at the door hinge.

Have you found your problem yet?

A few possible ideas if you havent:

1. Possible bad ground for your power window motor.
2. Do you or a regular passenger smoke? I have noticed on some cars (including volvos) that smoke residue on the windows can cause a fair amount of extra friction on the felt window liners at the base of the window and cause power windows to opperate much slower than normal and even stall them out (they are not very strong motors)
3. Someone mentioned you having alot of extra equipment in your car (alarm, stereo system, whatever). Are you possibly causing a strain on your electrical system?
4. Could be a weak/dying window motor.

Just some ideas.

Thank you all for the ideas, i gave the car to my niece and have to look at the car again when i have time. In the mean time she just locks the doors where ever she is and has not had any problems of an empty battery. It is a solution for now. I will post if i find the problem to let you know. Thank you, Cees
