You seem to have done something rather clever. I can only lock my V50 from outside with the key. Could you explain how you managed to lock the key inside?

We have only had the car for about a month...

The wife typically leaves the key in the car when she parks it in the garage...

she said she got home....turned the car off....but she was adjusting the radio settings...so the key had to be in so that the radio was on....after she finished changing the radio settings she pulled the key out and laid the key in the cup holder....got out of the car and closed the doors....the car then locked up and the alarm set.....

that's her story...and she's sticking to it.......so not really sure why the alarm set without using the key....

I think the cars lock themselves if they have not detected any movement for a few minutes - mine has done this before if the key is not in the ignition.

I would suggest the cheapest and easiest way of getting the car unlocked is to smash a window and get the key that way - the cars have a deadlocking system so it's going tobe hard to just open the door with some wire...

I must bring up a point of concern now this topic has arisen. If there were certain ways of getting into various cars without using the key - the web is not the place to detail how to do this. Any low-life could then access the web-site and be delighted that his habit of stealing car contents has been made much easier!

The kids know all the tricks already, the only people that don't are the ones that don't do it . Remember years ago BMW spent an absolute fortune on car locks they guaranteed could'nt be opened without the proper key ( they worked on air pressure) .Within a few days some kid had cracked it by cutting a tennis ball in half, putting it over the lock and giving it a sharp wack with his hand !!!!!

Mine came with two keys also as should all new cars. So PSA you should check to see what happened to your other key. Maybe someone at home (do you have kids) found your second key before you realized you had one and happened to press the lock button after you wife got out of the car! You now have a mystery to solve before it happens again.
