Yesterday the C-D player took a dump on me. When I select a disc, it will load and say "disc unreadable', and locks up. It does this on all 6 C-Ds and they were all working fine until this occurred. The AM-FM radio works fine. Am I going to have to mortgage the house to get this repaired?

I have a 2004 also and had the same problem. It's a good thing it screwed up on me while still under warranty. I had to have the cd changer replaced; the Volvo guy said that this particular changer dose not play recorded cds well...I guess I'll have to get an FM radio adapter and use my MP3 player since the stereo does not have AUX connections . :(

Problem solved, at least for now. My wife ejected all 6 C-Ds, reloaded them all, and now everything is working fine. Maybe by doing that it reset something in the unit, because now, the display tells me what artist and name of current song being played, which it never did before. Strange... I will keep my fingers crossed!

How did you get the CD out, was there any special trick? My stereo has eaten a CD and I can't get it to eject. The dispay just reads "disk unreadable".

Well, the problem is back and worse than ever. It's gonna cost about 500 bucks for a rebuilt changer installed by the stealer. I wonder how long the "new" one is gonna last.... I was also wondering if playing "home burned" C-Ds will screw up the disc reader.
