Hi everybody,

I have a 1994 940 Turbo Station Wagon (bought used) and have had to put in a rebuilt engine and transmission. The idle is high when the car first starts (revs up to 15000-2000 rpms) but settles down once in drive. Today, the car stalled twice while in drive...... the first time in stop and go traffic and the second at an acceleration of 40mph. It didn't loose power (radio was still on) but the engine just died. The strange thing is it started right back up with no problem.

I know that is a tricky problem but does anybody have any ideas what it could be and also am I in for another expensive trip to the mechanic.

check the hall effect sensor, knock sensor and most importantly the ignition amplifier as it is this that controls the sparks timing etc... mine went ... exactly the same position as you except the car infront wasnt going as fast as me...
