We have a 2003 XC90 and for the past couple of years we have experienced issues with the retractable side mirrors. At times, the two mirrors get out of synch and one of the mirrors is retracted while the other is not. Pressing the button causes the two mirrors to reverse their positions but you are still left with one retracted while the other is not. We can adjust one of the mirrors manually, but when we try to retract the mirrors with the button the mirrors go back to the way they were.

The mechanic at the dealer has told us that this is a common problem that occurs when the mirrors are bumped as someone passes by. In order to correct the problem, we take the car back to the dealer and they fix it. This has happened so often that I'm starting to think this has nothing to do with anyone bumping the mirror.

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue? Also, we have an extended warranty on the car and I'm wondering if we should tell the dealership to change the mirrors.
