hi everyone,

I just picked up an 05 s60. I'd love to not use an fm transmitter for my ipod, and I saw the USA SPEC PA11-vol adapter, which looks nice. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what effect installing this would have on the warranty? I read through the warranty brochure, and maybe I'm just bad and speaking lawyer, but it seems a little ambiguous. Thanks.

:cat: Hi there novkemen.

I can't speak as an expert with these things-but for what my input is worth-I'd say:

don't give an insurance company or motor vehicle dealer the slightest excuse to say that what was installed is not covered by the warranty.

Over the years I've seen many postings about members adding 'after market' products and various options which usually work and then stop something else from working. I'm sure in the many cases, what the member received by using the 'after market' product was far less than what they gave up to install it.

That's my two cents worth, for what it is worth to you.

Cheers :right:

It is yours to do with as you choose. The dealership can not stop you legally from altering your vehicle. Warranty claims can be denied if they can prove that what was altered on the vehicle is the cause of the claim. So the question YOU need to answer is how important is that Ipod of yours.
