since i purchased my 850 Turbo, at startup on a cold engine, there has always been a clicking sound when accelerating... sorta like a propeller sound.
it eventually goes away after the engine warms up.
my friend said it was like something was empty, thus causing the clicking... and when it fills up, then the clicking stops.

i'd really like to figure out what's causing this.
anyone have any ideas?

btw, i have broken odometer and broken glove box, like everyone else!

yup. i'm pretty religious about changing the oil every 3000 miles.
especially since my odometer is busted, i leave the meter on trip, so i know to change it every 3000 miles.
i read somewhere else about the Hydraulic Lift, but wasn't sure if that was it. the other post mentioned something about a whizzing sound.
i haven't experienced any stalling, or strange power-off... (knock on wood).
i thought it might've been the transmission, but i had that rebuilt last year, and the propeller clicking is still there. dang!

The clicking sound is prolly the hydraulic valve tappets.

Sometimes, it can come about, if you have less than recommended oil in the engine block. Check your oil level.
At other times, it can also come about, as and when the oil has come to a point to be replaced and engine serviced.
Other times, a simple hard-run would be able to make it disappear.

Point is, nothing too much to worry. Just check the oil level and service interval. If they are OK, then just leave it. Aside from the noise, there isnt much you can do, aside from changing the tappets themselves , which is sometimes unnecessary.

I put some in a 850 NA / Non turbo I had that made a clicking noise when you first started it for a few seconds and it stopped making the noise.

In my case, it usually takes just about 0.7bar to settle the noise.
:)
No need additives.
