hello all. I am a new member to these boards. I have a 1983 volvo 242 DL. Yesterday while driving I put on the hazard switch and stepped out of the car. When I returned, the turn signals weren't flashing. When I try to use the turn signals with the stalk, they don't work either. I looked at the flasher relay, but it is not the same as the ones that have been described on the boards here. The one I have is a 2 pronged silver circular relay that says flasher relay on it. I suspect that is has failed. When I turn on the hazard switch I can hear a faint single click. When I turn off the hazard switch it clicks again. I have checked all of the fuses and they look ok. I haven't inspected the turn signal bulbs, but I don't think any of them were out prior to this problem.

The questions I have are:

1) Does my problem seem associated with the flasher relay failing?
2) What replacement part can I purchase for the flasher relay?

Problem Solved. I went to kragen and purchased a relay for $10 and replaced the flasher relay. It's all good :grin:
