Hi grendel, thanks for the email. as im on incapacity benefit i have to save up for the bits & bobs i need, and car has got quite a bit of mould on it any ideas. I was thinking of washing up liquid & stiff brush, however paintwork is 85% good and i don't want to ruin it. I know its sounds petty but its in for m o t, in two weeks, then we'll suss out the real damage. THANKING YOU ALL. NOODLES :liebe011:

Mine has its MOT later this month, so I am in the same boat as you, I am now on my third 440, and I too dont have a lot to spend on it, saying that I do drive 100 miles each day in mine to get to work. I do however have a lot of experience in fixing up the little things that can and have gone wrong on mine - all mostly minor.

Hi Noodles

definitely NO washing up liquid on the paintwork!!! It has too much salt and other chemicals that will ruin your paint. "Stardrops" if you have it is good (it looks like washing up liquid but it isnt and is v cheap Stardrops) or WD40 or one of the cheap supermarket alternatives might shift it with a microfibre cloth or dishcloth?
My 440 spent 6 months in a barn before it came into my possession and had all mould around the window trims (funnily enough I was on incapacity benefit too with the big c) it still has mould but i got rid of the other stuff :)

Good luck with the MOT

bleach and water for the mold. use one of those floppy mops, not a stiff brush. when if is good and scrubbed, hot water then cold. air dry. then use a good car soap and wash it down completely. the hit it with a qualtiy wax. then sit back and bask in the shine off of that paint. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :shades:
