Hi,
I bought a 06 XC90 as a used one with 11k. from beginning I have a serious problem in the vehicle. VEHICLE LOOSING SPEED ALL ON A SUDDEN.
Ok, let me narrate this in detail.
First time when I encountered this incident, I was on the highway driving a long distance from Florida to Dallas from my car dealer. The dash board indicated I have 130 miles for tank to empty. The speed was approximately 65 to 80 miles in average. The vehicle was on the left most lane, and also the highway was packed with traffic.
All on a sudden the vehicle dropped/dipped speed. I though the vehicle engine is shutoff or some thing. I got panicked and barely managed to pull the vehicle to the curb. Switched the vehicle off/turned the keys to off position and took a long breath and waited for a while. Then started the vehicle with shaking hands, to my surprise the vehicle started as usual and when I engaged my gears, it picked momentum as usual. But I was so cautious now, expecting this to occur any minute.
I thought it could be some thing to do with gas or the display or the gas level sensor. I drove for 45 miles with no issue then I filled the gas.
Then the next time it occurred when I was so expecting and observing the vehicle. The dash board said it have 105 to empty. This time I jammed by accelerator/gas pedal. The engine roars, but I see no pick up in the vehicle. The vehicle was loosing speed very fast. I have no choices, except but to take the vehicle to the curb, parked. After a few seconds, reengaged gear in to drive. The vehicle drove smooth, but it kept occurring, occurring, occurring… till I fill the gas to full tank all my way.
Every time I drive short distance, I don’t get have problem, but when I drive long this is so usual since I bought this car. I am scared to take very high risk driving this vehicle in highway with my family.
It is very hard for the dealer to trouble shoot this issue as they are unable to reproduce this. Looks like they have enjoyed driving for almost 700 miles in it!!.

I know that I have elaborated this too much, but trust me; I am in desperate situation, so I thought I write in detail for the person to get the best picture on the situation.
I would appreciate you if you can share some light on this.
Thanks in advance for reading this long write-up and drive safe.
