Does anyone know where to get them, or even if they are still available.
Well I will start by how I got them, about 20 years ago the electrical supply company I worked for ordered a huge number of these for all the engineers cars and all the vans, they were ordered from Norway or Sweden, and all staff were offered them at a generous reduction. So I bought a set.
I have been using them ever since when it snows, or when I have been stuck in the mud, they have moved from car to van to camper to car, and on through all my cars.
anyway some pictures are in order here:-

this is how they store - folded up

to fit them you slide them under the wheel.

unfold the arms and wind them in toward the centre using the spring handle.
(IMG:http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p136/grendel1960/DSCF3738.jpg)
this is the grippy it that does the work
(IMG:http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p136/grendel1960/DSCF3739.jpg)
this is with the arms wound right out.
(IMG:http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p136/grendel1960/DSCF3740.jpg)
and with the arms wound in again.
(IMG:http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p136/grendel1960/DSCF3741.jpg)
and finally, this is the only markings on the centre section.

So can anyoine help, name a company that supplies them, or even the name of the company that used to make them, can you still get them, mine are over 20 years old and still going strong,
Grendel

the only thing that i have ever seen that comes close to those were on my other brother-in-laws subaru when he lived and worked in mass. he lived waaaaaaaaaaaay out int he boondocks in pittsfield and the company he worked for, GE, provided their workers with these plastic thingies that looks like that. i can contact him and see if he still has his and find the name of the company. but again, they are plastic.
