Hi,

We have a 1998 S40 2.0i and it's been a top performer over the last few years. However we were swapping the position of the cars on the drive earlier this evening and when I came to move the Volvo it just would not engage reverse.

You press your foot down on the clutch and the pedal is very floppy. You try and enter reverse and it just grinds like you haven't pressed the pedal down.

Any suggestions for me to take a look at?

I pushed the car back to check on the ground if there was any fluid leakages and nothing was apparent.

We had it towed away and just for your information it's the clutch slave cylinder and also the master cylinder that needs to be replaced.
