My volvo headunit has died & I'm looking to replace it with a Sony Headunit - the only problem is that my S40 has an external amp. Has anyone replaced a headunit & cut out the amp? If so can you please offer some advice?

not familiar with this imagine you would have to wire to each speaker itself, or get an adaptor for the amp...but one thing im sure of is that this is in the wrong forum...
