I just bought a 2004 xc90 with third-row seats. The previous owner's dog shredded both of the seat belts in the third row, and I think the level of safety they should provide is compromised. Is replacing seatbelt harnesses a do-it-yourself job? Also, I am wondering whether I might be able to take belt harnesses from a junked '92 740 and move them to the xc90. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks....

You could do it yourself you just buy the pieces remove the bolts and put in the new ones. I hope you get it done yourself. DIY always saves and you always get to know your car better.

i would never even buy a car that a dog rode in.....i cant believe the fruits that spend 40+ k on a car, nice leather, and then let a dirty animal crawl all over it, slobber on it, wipe it's bottom, on it..... heck I barely let my kids in mine lol
